COLOR DESCRIPTIONS

ALA-BOURBON

Ala-Bourbon is a beautiful semi-transparent bait that refracts light.  This bait color without the flake looks like bourbon viewed through a clean lowball glass.

The color includes black and a very bright green flake.

Ala-Bourbon was first shot while doing one of our Facebook live videos. It was also a top seller during a festival event we took them to. You really should give them a try.

BABY BASS

Baby Bass is semi-transparent and will refract a lot of light.

This is one of our laminate colors, meaning it is two completely different colors from top to bottom.  I use a medium green color with small green and medium gold and black flake for the top color. For the bottom color, I use a pearl white color with no flake. I’m of the opinion that most baby bass colors on the market are too dark and don’t refract enough light. If you have ever held fry in your hand, you will notice they are transparent at that age. The fingerling bass tend to look a little more like a grown bass. Therefore, I developed this color to imitate them both.

BLACK DIAMOND

Black Diamond is just that, black with silver flake.

The colorant is not over saturated like most black baits on the market, giving thinner areas of our baits a smoke look to them in sunlight.

We believe Black Diamond to be the perfect black color on the market.

CAJUN CRAW

This is a beautiful color that really attracts bass.

The color is a dark green pumpkin top with an orange-red bottom. Every fisherman should have this in their arsenal.

CHARTREUSE PUMPKIN

Chartreuse Pumpkin has been around for a long time and this is my take on the color.

It is a chartreuse color that has been darkened. This color only really shows the thicker body portion of the baits. While this color works all over the country, it is considered a staple on the Tennessee River.

COTTON CANDY

Cotton Candy is semi-transparent.

Cotton Candy is a bright, almost neon color of pink. It includes medium green, blue, and purple flake.

This color is a favorite among many fishermen. It will refract a tremendous amount of light and is effective in normal to clear water conditions.

FIRE CRAW

Fire Craw is a spring time necessity and man is it on FIRE!

I color matched my fire craw based on the Jackhammer Fire Craw and Tight Line’s Guntersville Red. I doubt you will find a better Fire Craw color.

GOLD GHOST

Gold Ghost is a beautiful translucent light smoke color.

Glitter colors include small gold and small hologram.  The hologram flake shines faint, but all the colors of the rainbow, dependent upon how the light hits it.

This is a must have color for every tackle box!

GREEN GIZZARD SHAD

Green Gizzard Shad was developed to imitate the bait itself.

The top of the bait is an olive green color with a tremendous amount of pearl in the bait. The bottom is a white/off-white color with pearl.

GREEN PUMPKIN

Green Pumpkin is semi-opaque.  The color will appear dark in the bodies of the baits, though will allow light to transmit in the thinner tails.

My Green Pumpkin color isn’t exactly like the others as it is a bit darker. You might even wonder where the green is in the color, but once you look at it closely it will show itself. I think the fish like it due to it being different. As for flake, it is simply a medium black. Green pumpkin is a staple in most fishermen’s tackle box. I’m a bit different and Green Pumpkin was never one of my go to baits until we developed this color. I prefer this color in stained to muddy water.

JUNE BUG

June Bug is a translucent color. The body refracts a small amount of light, though the tails will refract a larger amount.

June Bug is another deep purple color that includes med green flake. Due to the pigment color, the flake will sometimes appear green and sometimes appear blue.

June Bug is another staple in my tackle box. While this color will certainly catch fish in any water conditions, I tend to use it mostly in stained to muddy water.

KEY LIME

Key Lime is another laminate color.  It is both semi-transparent and translucent depending upon which side you are looking at.

The top color starts off as a light brown color with small gold and black, as well as medium black. The bottom color is a neon lime with no flake.

Once laminated together, the light brown color takes on a green hue.  The colors really come together nice. This color shines in clear to normal water clarity.

LT. WATERMELON RED

Lt. Watermelon Red is semi-transparent. There will be some light penetration on thinner appendages of baits.

You will notice that I have two Watermelon Red colors. The Lt. Watermelon Red is on the yellow side of the color spectrum, where our regular Watermelon Red is much more on the dark green side. Flake includes small red and medium black.

I’m a big believe in Watermelon Red. Company to company, you will notice drastic differences in the colors, which is why we developed two. I think it is a confidence thing on my part.

MARDI GRAS 2.0

Mardi Gras 2.0 I would call a semi-transparent Color. If it had no flake, I would probably call it full Transparent.

The color is a light melon green with heavy flake. The flake colors include small purple, royal blue, and chartreuse along with a medium purple.

Early on in the Yolo Bait Co journey, Eric and his friend Mark, were experimenting with colors and this was the very first color they developed together. The initial name was actually Magic Mark, though developed quickly into Mardi Gras, and is still one of our favorite colors for clear water.

MOTOR OIL

Motor Oil is just that, it looks like motor oil as you would pour it out of a quart bottle into your engine. This transparent bait shines during clear water and full sunshine. The bait gives off a shimmer of green and appears to move even when sitting still. Motor Oil doesn’t have any glitter in it, though it can be added for more flair. Motor Oil with red flake is a great option.

NATTY SHAD

Natty Shad is just like the description, it is a natural shad color.

The top of the bait is a pearl gray colored bait with silver and black flake. The bottom of the bait is a pearl white/off-white color.

If you are trying to imitate a shad, this is the perfect color to use.

NUN-YA

Nun-Ya is a laminate color that is both semi-transparent and semi-opaque depending upon which color you are looking at.

The top color is a gorgeous deep purple color with some neon pigments in it as well. It utilizes small blue and purple flake. The bottom color starts out as chartreuse with small chartreuse flake.

Once laminated, the chartreuse becomes a beautiful lime shade due to the refraction of light from the purple.

Some say this color imitates a blue gill. I don’t know what it imitates other than the fish devour it. I asked a bass one time, but he wouldn’t tell me what he thought it looked like.

PEARLY WHITE

It’s just that simple.

White with a pearl sheen!

PLUM PERFECT

Plum Perfect is a semi-opaque color that does refract a bit of light in the thicker bodies of bait, though thinner tails and appendages will refract quite a bit more.

This is a shimmering deep red pushing toward a violet highlight.  We like Plum Perfect with blue flake, though the options are endless.  This will quickly become one of your confidence colors.

RAZZLEBERRY

Razzleberry is a laminate color that can be both opaque and translucent, depending upon light conditions.

One side is a lighter Green Pumpkin with the other side being a Raspberry color with small red and purple flake.

Razzleberry came as an idea from one of our customers. We liked is so much we added it to our line. This color will quickly become a part of your arsenal!

RED BUG

Red Bug is a translucent color.

Utilizing red and purple, I’ve created a deep red color that is great in nearly all conditions. It also utilizes both small and medium green flake. Due to the pigments used, sometimes the flake will appear green and sometimes it will appear blue, dependent upon the light conditions.

Red Bug is another of my favorite colors and is always tied on one of my rods. You’re missing out if you don’t try this color.

SAPPHIRE BLUE

Sapphire Blue is a color used in both clear and dark water. It’s a beautiful semi-translucent shade of dark blue with silver flake.

It’s a great stand alone color, but also pairs well as a trailer bait. This past spring, we were throwing Sapphire Blue YOLO Craws on the back of a Jackhammer Chatterbait with amazing success. I’ve probably had more comments about catching fish on this bait more than any of our other offerings.

SPRING CREEK

Spring Creek should be considered translucent.

Spring Creek was a spin off color of our Cinnamon. The base pigment is the same, though the color is very different as it becomes a much lighter color. As for flake, we kept it the same using small purple and gold.

This is also a versatile color, though it should probably be used in clearer water than that of cinnamon. During sunny conditions, it transmits a large amount of light and works well in normal water clarity as well as clear water.

THE REEL DEAL

The Reel Deal started out as custom color from one of our customers. Once made, I just knew I had a keeper. It’s been tested from Guntersville on Large Mouth Bass to Lake Erie on Small Mouth, all with great success.

There’s very little flake in this bait, but it’s loaded down with pearl powder.

It’s a “Reel” eye catcher not only for you, but the fish as well.

WATERMELON GREEN

Watermelon Green is a semi-transparent color that I actually made by mistake. I was making our very popular Lt. Watermelon Red; however, I somehow put the wrong color flake in the plastic. As they say, the rest is history. It has always amazed me how the plastic changes in color with the flake added.

Watermelon Green will become a favorite of mine, as I was able to catch some very finicky fish on Guntersville, when all other colors I tried failed. Give it a try!

WATERMELON RED

Our regular Watermelon Red is translucent and is much more on the dark green side of the color spectrum, where as our Lt. Watermelon Red is on the yellow side.

This color refracts a lot of light, especially in clear water situations.  Small red, medium black and red flake are added to the color.

You will not see me on the water without this watermelon red tied on one of my rods.
